Home and School Association
The St. James Home & School Association is a parent organization that supports the school by promoting a sense of community, providing strong communication links between the parent body and the school (administrators, teachers and trustees), and funding the H&S activities and the enhancements to the school outside of the school's budget.
Every SJS parent or guardian is automatically a member of St. James Home and School Association and as such is urged to take an active role. Each year, our parent volunteers donate more than 8000 hours of their time. They volunteer their time in classrooms, they welcome new families, they help out in the library and the lunchroom, they organize fundraisers and friendraisers, they coordinate community service projects, and they make a point of celebrating SJS faculty and staff and showing their appreciation for them. A few of the projects the H&S Association is responsible for include:
- Sally Foster Sale (September)
- Silent and Live Auction (November)
- Turkey Trot Fun Run (November)
- Chocolate Sale (February)
- Family Fun Festival (Spring)
Diabetes Walk-A-Thon - April 2008
